Deanna L. “Dee” Currier, age 85, of Delta, passed away surrounded by her loving and dedicated family on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Swanton Valley Healthcare.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1941, to Lewis and Eleanor (Jacobs) Maze in Monclova, Ohio. Her family just celebrated her 85th birthday with her.
Dee married the love of her life, Errol “Fuzzy” Currier, on Oct. 4, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2008.
Dee was a true caregiver for most of her life, taking care of her parents and then many residents at a local nursing home, and later, residents at Sunshine Communities who lived independently.
She was a founding member of the Red Hat Society in Delta and Louisiana, when she was living with her son. Dee also loved her BINGO nights. Above everything, Dee was a loving and caring mom, a doting grandma and great-grandma—her family was her everything.
She is survived by her children, Theresa “Terri” (Fred) Hill, Audrey (Rachel) Schnur, Ronald “Ron” (Penny) Currier, Lisetta “Rene” Forrest and Bonnie (Brian) Steward; 13 grandchildren; and many precious great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Errol “Fuzzy” Currier; son, Errol “Butch” Currier; grandchildren, Barbara Dee Currier, John Errol Forrest and Joseph “Big Joe” Currier; three sisters; and two brothers.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 S. Fulton St., Wauseon, Ohio. Her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
