All board members and four guests were in attendance for the meeting and to hear reports given by Tim Rettig and Paul Jones on the junior high/high school and elementary areas. Minutes, financial statements, and investments from September were all approved as presented. Likewise, appropriation additions were also approved.

Employments gaining approval from the board included Carolyn Hopper (Van Driver), Heather Mavis (Substitute teacher), Gregory Waidelich (7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach), and Jalen Dancer (7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach). Resignations approved included Benjamin Wright (HS Science, effective January 31, 2016) as well as Terry Zuver and Tomi Zuver (Junior Class Advisor – shared).

Other items gaining approval included substitute teachers pay at $90/day; the adoption of indoor track as a school sponsored sport for North Central Local School, bus routes for 2015-16; the disposal of textbooks; the second reading of the policy/bylaw revisions; and an advance of $463,845.86 from the General Fund to the LFI Building Fund.

In terms of the building project, the Board discussed that the schedule is currently running 5 weeks behind but that the construction manager still intends to meet the completion date to start the 2016-17 school year in the new building, noting that winter weather will determine completion. Low temperatures are of a larger concern than snow. The original start date of mid to late June had a completion date of March, so it would be possible to complete by August.

The Board meeting was adjourned at 6:55PM. The next meeting of the North Central Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
