Ray A. Berkebile

Ray A. Berkebile, 57, of Alvordton passed away Monday morning at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Montpelier.  He was born on December 5, 1957 in Montpelier to Wendell R. and Emma Mae (Mead) Berkebile.  Ray attended Montpelier High School.  On October 3, 2004 he married Susan L. “Sue” Sheely and she survives.

For several years Ray was a truck driver for Dennison Trucking in Kunkle, Ohio.  He also worked at Schmitt Produce in Alvordton for a couple of years until 2007.

Ray is survived by his wife Sue; one son Jeremy Berkebile of Stillwater, Oklahoma; five step children, Wendy Yoachum of Vermillion, Missouri; Ronald Yoachum of Springfield, Missouri, Summer (Jay) Ho’Gland of Stockton, Missouri, Candy (Liberty) Russell of Kansas City, Missouri and April (Ed) Mitchellallin of Bolivar, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren;  four sisters, Connie (Jerry) Zimmerman of Bryan, Jackie (Corky) Day of Pioneer, Donna (Roger) Pannell of Montpelier, and Emily (Nate) Bond of Montpelier; and one brother Randall (Irene) Berkebile of Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel Berkebile and twin brothers Clyde and Richard Berkebile.

Vistiation for Ray will be on Saturday, October 31st from 11am-1pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.   Service will be on Saturday at 1pm at the funeral home with Minister Bob Gable to officiate.  Interment will follow at Walnut Creek Cemetery in Alvordton.
