Teddy D. Fleming, 63 years, of Ney, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Van Wert Hospice Inpatient Center, Van Wert, Ohio. Teddy was born November 4, 1952 in Clintwood, Virginia, the son of Irwin and Opal (Cable) Fleming. He married Marianna E. Kiessling on September 19, 1978 in Clintwood, Virginia, and she survives.

Teddy worked at Stark Truss Company, Edgerton, retiring in 2006 due to a disability. Prior to this, he worked for Archbold Ladder Company and the City of Defiance in the Parks and Recreation Department. In his younger years, Teddy loved to hunt and fish. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, following Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also liked to relax by watching a good Western or Action movie. His pride and joy was his yard and garden. His true prize were his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Marianna, Teddy is survived by four children, Tamara Westrick of Lima, Ohio, Jerry (Carrie) Westrick, Jr. of Bryan, Charles Westrick also of Bryan and Kristy (Ali) Megdadi of Ney; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his father, Irwin of Clintwood, Virginia; four brothers, Phillip (Kitty) Fleming of Winchester, Virginia, Donnie (Mary) Fleming of Texas, Ralph ( Lydia) Fleming of Defiance and Raymond Fleming of Cecil; six sisters, Irene (Earl) France of Clintwood, Virginia, Joyce Nelson of Cecil, Fern (Bud) Farmer of Piketon, Ohio, Rosa (Pete) Whitt of Clintwood, Virginia, Patty (Eddie) Benson of Piketon, Ohio and Lovetta (Freddie) Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, Shelton and James Fleming and one great-granddaughter, Adrianna Costanzo.


Visitation for Teddy D. Fleming will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. noon. Private interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice or to the family.
