STRYKER – For the first half of their BBC tilt of January 4, the Stryker Lady Panthers we a team that could barely keep up with the Edon Lady Bombers, let alone get past them. The spark needed to fire the engine simply was not there, and the Lady Bombers took advantage of it in the third to open up a double-digit lead.

With the prospects for a win looking bleak for the hometown girls going into the fourth, Emily Rupp provided a spark for the offense, and the defense clamped down on Edon’s Sydney Stoll. Slowly, the Edon lead began to dissolve, and the Lady Bombers were becoming the ones who could not keep up with the rejuvenated Lady Panthers. The final buzzer sounded in a suddenly rocking Cage, ending a 23-12 Stryker fourth quarter rally that brought them from double-digits down to a 52-50 victory.

Conner Varner put in 16 for Stryker, with Rupp coming off the bench to add 11 and key the fourth quarter outburst. Christie Huston had 9 points, Connor Sullivan and Michaela Rupp each had 6 points, with Maddie Uribes and Hannah Doehrmann each adding 2 points.

Stoll hit on a game high 18 for the Lady Bombers, and Kaitlin Chrisman and Hannah Brehm-Gutting each posted 10 points before exiting on fouls in the fourth. Andrea Headley had 7 points, and Alex Kiess added 5.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Stryker  10  12  7  23 – 52
Edon  15  7  16  12 – 50
