Richard D. Smith, age 69, of Wauseon, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, in his home. Prior to his retirement he had worked at I.A.C. in Wauseon.
Richard was born in Henderson, Nevada on June 7, 1946, the son of Kenneth W. and Virginia (Bullis) Smith. On November 19, 1965 he married Betty Schlegel, and she survives.
Also surviving are children, Stacey DuQuette and Richard C. Smith of Wauseon; grandchildren, Michael Junge, Tony Junge, Sadie DeNudt, Richard A. Smith, and Danielle Smith; and great-grandchild, Trey Junge. Other survivors include brothers, Robert L. Smith of Brighton, CO, David R. Smith of Wauseon; sisters, Betty Lou Russell of Lyons and Sally J. Roach of Delta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth W. Smith, mother, Virginia McFeters, and brother, Donald Smith.
Visitation for Richard will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Wauseon. There will be no funeral service. Interment will be in the Hoy Cemetery.
