Albert B. Watson

Albert B. WatsonAlbert B. Watson, 95, of Montpelier passed away Friday night at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on November 25, 1920 in Raven, Virginia to William E. and Carrie M. (Osborne) Watson. On November 18, 1939 he married S. Juanita Heil and she survives.

Al served his country as a United States Marine in World War II in Peleliu and Okinawa, he was awarded a Purple Heart. He worked as a foreman at Mohawk Tool in Montpelier until 1979, he then formerly retired from a shop in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1982 as a Carbide Tool Brazer. Al was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, the First Marine Division Association, the Marine Corp League of the Dearborn Detachment and a former member of Hillcrest Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Juanita; his daughter Juanita Kay Watson of Farmington, Michigan; daughter-in-law Diane Watson of Redford, Michigan; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth L. Watson, brother Alfred Watson, and sister Margaret Watson.

Visitation for Al will be on Tuesday, January 26th from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. There will also be a visitation on Thursday from 9-11am at the Charles R. Step Funeral Home in Reford Township, Michigan. Graveside services will be on Thursday at
11am at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. Military rites will be provided by the
Dearborn Detachment.
