According to Julie Goins-Whitmore, Mobile Stoke Unit Program Manager, “We chose Four County Arrowhead in Maumee to assist us in getting the required certification due to their responsiveness, great reputation, rapport with area fire and EMS providers and the use of their satellite location. The methodology and instructor ratio was perfect to enhance the nurse’s knowledge and to expose the CT technicians to pre-hospital care. From our first conversation with Four County Career Center, it was evident that the Four County staff were invested in our staff as their students and committed to their success! Carol Hibbard, lead instructor, had just the right mix of classroom and hands-on activities to keep the students engaged and pushing themselves to be the best they could be.” Dan Frederick, Public Safety Director at the Career Center’s campus in Archbold and Arrowhead in Maumee, was very happy when Mercy contacted them to provide the class for them. Dan stated, “This group of students from Mercy was dedicated and driven to excel and pass the National Registry Exam.” The collaborative effort between each institution was outstanding and the best part was it will give the communities they serve enhanced pre-hospital care. The Basic EMT class met the 150 classroom/lab/clinical hours required by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Basic EMT.
