LeRoy W. Fenicle, 76, of Montpelier, passed away early Monday morning at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 24, 1936 in Bridgewater Township to Arthur W. and Ella Viola (Keller) Fenicle. After graduation from Montpelier High School in 1953, LeRoy began work as a machinist for Powers & Sons LLC in Montpelier until his retirement in 2006 after 53 years. On September 25, 1960 LeRoy married Vondaile J. Shankster at Pulaski Methodist Church.
He previously attended the Bridgewater Community Church. Leroy was active in the Army National Guard for 12 years. LeRoy was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time fishing with his sons. He devoted many years to his own farm out in Bridgewater Township.
In addition to his wife Vondaile J. Fenicle, LeRoy leaves behind his two sons Robyn LeRoy Fenicle (Hazel Swenson) and Corey W. Fenicle both of Montpelier, two brothers Larry (Marna) Fenicle of Phoenix, AZ and Ronald (Linda) Fenicle of Montpelier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier from 3-7 pm. The funeral service will take place on Thursday January 24, 2013 at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate, accompanied by Danny Woods. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Directly following services, a meal will be held at the Pioneer Community Center.
