Mark C. Lehman

March 21, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

Mark Charles Lehman, beloved son, brother, nephew, and cousin, passed from this world at the age of 53, on Saturday evening, March 19, 2016 after valiantly fighting cancer. He joins his father and grandparents who were waiting for him with open arms.

Mark was born in Wauseon on December 29, 1962 to Roger and Margaret (DeWitt) Lehman and was a 1981 graduate of Swanton High School. An intensely private, loyal person, Mark was known for his exceptional carpentry skills and wicked sense of humor. He was an avid outdoorsman and was very mechanically inclined, known to be able to fix anything, including his beloved “Herbie”. He weathered more than his fair share of difficulties but always remained true to his sound, moral compass.

Mark is survived by his mother, Margaret; sister, Debra (Kevin) Westrick; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger and grandparents, Louis (Esther) Lehman, Harlen (Bernice) DeWitt and beloved step-grandfather, Orville Mack.

Mark’s family would like to thank the excellent staff at St. Luke’s ICC that took such considerate care of both Mark and his family. We would also like to thank Heartland Hospice and Mark’s primary care physician for guiding us through extremely difficult decisions during unimaginable circumstances.

Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. According to Mark’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held in his honor. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
