Ronald R. ThielRonald R. Thiel, age 75, of Edon, Ohio, died at 3:31 A.M. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan, Ohio. Mr. Thiel was a 1959 graduate of Edon High School, was a longtime employee of Thiel Construction and retired as a roadway supervisor with the Williams County Highway Department. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee, Knights of Columbus Council #3883 and the Bishop Rappe Assembly and was a regular at Sam’s Coffee Club.

Ronald R. Thiel was born on January 26, 1941, in Florence Township, Ohio, the son of John P. and Florence M. (Nye) Thiel. He married Gaylan J. May on February 11, 1960, in Blakeslee and she survives.

Survivors also include four daughters, Yvonda (Curtis) Stantz, of Wauseon, Ohio, Cheryl Fenstermaker, of Edon, Michele (Joseph) Headley, of Edon, and Rachael (Jeremy) Welch, of Edgerton, Ohio; one son, Chris (Janis) Thiel, of Edgerton; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lee (Marcia) Thiel, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Patrick Thiel; one brother, Marvin Thiel; one sister, Regina Hartman; a granddaughter, Allyson Word; and a great-granddaughter, Kyla Bree Stantz.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June, 19, 2016, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday. Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Daniel Borgelt and Reverend Fred Duschl officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakesee.


Memorials are requested to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
