John M. Anderson, of Montpelier, passed away on Thursday June 16, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1957 in Montpelier to H. Allen and Mary (Beucler) Anderson. John graduated from Montpelier High School in 1975.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier and the Montpelier Eagles, where he was a past president. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and gardening. For over forty years he owned a cottage on Clear Lake in Indiana and loved spending time there.
John is survived by his parents, H. Allen and Mary Anderson of Golden, Colorado; Paula (Nofziger) Anderson; one daughter, Johanna (James) Marihugh of Montpelier; one son, Brent (Rebecca) Anderson of Milford, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, Chase, Ryan and Thomas; one sister, Gail Anderson of Greeley, Colorado; and one brother, Mark (Stephanie) Anderson of Centennial, Colorado.
A time to receive friends will take place on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. John will be laid to rest in a private interment at Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Benaiah Harris to officiate.
