Dale CoulonDale M. Coulon, 96 years, of West Unity, passed away Friday evening, August 19, 2016 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan. Dale was born October 13, 1919, on the family farm, near West Unity to the late Adam and Minnie (Siegel) Coulon. He was a 1938 graduate of West Unity High School. Dale married Marilyn Rodgers on March 17, 1945, in Bryan, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2009.

A lifelong farmer, Dale had a passion for caring for his farm, and passed that onto his family. He enjoyed working on and around the farm well into his 90’s. He was a member of the West Unity United Methodist Church, where he was very active and participated on several boards. He was also a member of the Williams County Dairy Association, and was instrumental in beginning the Williams County Milk Shake stand at the Williams County Fair. Dale’s other passion in his life was spending quality time with his family.

Surviving are his three sons, Marty (Margene) Coulon of West Unity, John (Terri) Coulon of Archbold and Tom (Kitty) Coulon of Bloomington, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jody Coulon, Dyan (Jay) Stevens, Adam (Lupe) Coulon, Chris Coulon, Samantha Coulon, Adam Coulon, Brion (Audrey) Hanenkratt and Brad Hanenkratt; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and most recently, his sister, Mabel Jacoby.

Visitation for Dale M. Coulon will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity, where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 with Pastor Greg Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.


The family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy to consider memorial contributions be directed to the West Unity United Methodist Church.
