Edna J. Thompson, 93, of Montpelier, passed away on October 10, 2016 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Henry County, Ohio to Alvin Z. and Ethel E. (Weirich) Mohler. She graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1941 and graduated from Lima School of Practical Nursing in 1959. Edna worked as a nurse at Williams County General Hospital for over 20 years and retired from Bryan Custom Plastics in 1988 after 27 years. She also served for several years with the Williams County E.M.S.
Edna was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Her favorite past time was fishing and she also enjoyed traveling, providing home health care, playing cards, watching the Detroit Tigers and her cat Kelly.
She is survived by her son, Mike Thompson of Georgia; grandson, Treg Thompson of Georgia; many nieces and nephews and good friends.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence “Badge” Miller who passed in 1948 from polio; second husband, Elbert Thompson who passed in 1978; and several brothers and sisters.
