Saturday, December 3  Scoring Summaries

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Hilltop 53, Emmanuel Christian 30

The Cadets put the game away during the fourth quarter with a 16-2 run. Leading the charge in the non-conference win were Tim Maneval with 19, Ryan Brooker with 14 and Quinn Smith with 11.

Wauseon 52, Archbold 50

In the annual ‘non-league’ contest the two NWOAL rivals fought to the bitter end with Wauseon squeaking out the win at “The Thunderdome” in Archbold. The two teams played even basketball during first half action with the Indians holding a 21-20 edge at the break. Brooks Gype led Wauseon with 26 points while Carter Bzovi added 13. Eli Miller and Bryce Williams finished in double figures for the Bluestreaks with 18 and 10 points respectively.

MVCD 49, Fayette 47

In the non-conference narrow defeat the Eagles played a solid contest. Both Trey Keefer and Travis Wagner led Fayette in double  figures with 13 points apiece.

Montpelier 64, Hicksville 62

The Locomotives came back from an eight-point first half deficit to clip the Aces. Kolden Uribes exploded for 33 points in the win for Montpelier. He was good on nine two-point shots, three three-point shots and added six points at the foul line. Michael Blake added 14 and Evan Friend connected for 11 in the win.

Pettisville 50, Delta 35

The Blackbirds held a six-point advantage at the break and then put the game away in the last quarter with a 17-6 advantage. Pettisville finished with eight players in the scoring column led by Detric Yoder’s 12 points. The Panthers were led by Gabe Freeman’s 15-point effort.

Evergreen 64, North Central 39

The Vikings used 26 points from Mason Loeffler and double points figures from Bryce Hudik (11 points) and Phonix VanOstrand (10 points) to bolt to the lopsided non-league win. Cody Tomblin led the list of nine Eagle scorers with his eight points.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Evergreen 44, North Central 24

The Vikings used a 29-point second half to ignite the non-league victory. Derek Poore led the Vikings with 12 points and teammate John Ruth added 10. The Eagles were led by Levi Williams with seven points.

BOYS FRESHMEN BASKETBALL

Pettisville 33, Delta 23

The Blackbirds got win number one on the season in the non-conference clash. Pettisville’s 12-3 advantage during the fourth quarter led them to the win. Joel Flory scored 19 points in the win for Pettisville.

VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bryan 60, Edon 39

The Golden Bears outscored Edon 21-13 in the fourth quarter after building a 39-26 lead after three. Allye Minor led Bryan with 21 points in the win. Teammates Kennedy Lamberson and Baylee Krupp also finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Edon’s top point getters were Hannah Kaylor with nine and Hannah Fogel with eight.

GIRLS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Edon 32, Bryan 31

The Golden Bears took the advantage after three quarters 23-20 only to be outscored by the Bombers 12-8 in the fourth quarter. Arianna Howard and Riley Bloir led Edon with 13 and 10 points respectively while Haley Maxcy paced Bryan with 14 points

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pettisville 27, Fayette 9

The Blackbirds improved to 2-0 on the young season with the 18-point victory. Addison Moyer led Pettisville with 11 points while Karsen Pursel added eight. J. Reinking paced Fayette with six points and C. Merillat finished with two.

Fayette 26, Pettisville 9

The Eagles broke out to a 14-4 first half lead and never looked back for the BBC win in an eighth grade contest. Fruchey and Robinson led Fayette with 14 and 11 points respectively and Anna Hudspeath led Pettisville with four points.
