Daniel A. Riter, 27 years, of Defiance, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan. Daniel was born February 21, 1989 in Bryan the son of Scott Riter and Pamela Gibson Zipfel. He was a graduate of Tinora High School. He married Kristy Cereghin on May 7, 2016 in Defiance. Daniel worked for Alex Products in Ridgeville as a machine operator. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar and spending time with those important in his life.
Surviving is his wife, Kristy; two daughters, Hailey and McKenzie Riter; his mother and stepfather, Pamela (Mark) Zipfel; father, Scott Riter; three brothers, Derek Riter, Drew Zipfel and Jeremey Riter; one sister, Breanna Zipfel; grandparents, Phillip and DeAnn Riter and Irene Zipfel; aunts and uncles, Regina (Rick Bany) Harding; Roberta (Daniel Stiltner) Ruffer, Vernon “Bub” (Kattie) Gibson and Cheryl (Monty) Stiltner along with many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Patricia Harding and Howard Zipfel.
A gathering of relatives and friends will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.
