Janet L. Dominique (1937 – 2017)

Janet L. Dominique, age 79, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Genesis Health Care in Bryan.

She was born in Continental, Ohio on October 25, 1937, the daughter of Walter H. Schwartzengraber and Vontella (Ordway) Schwartzengraber, Pierce. She was united in marriage to John (Frank) Dominique on October 21, 1972. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2014.

Janet owned and worked at Miss Jan’s Beauty Salon in Bryan, Stryker and Archbold, Ohio. She and her husband, Frank, owned The Glass Bar is Stryker for many years and she retired from the Village of Stryker from the position as tax clerk. Janet was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold, where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society and served many years on the funeral committee. She was also a member of the Archbold American Legion Auxiliary, and was a member of the Putnam County Genealogy Society.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Veronica (Wayne) Henry of Napoleon, Denise Morgan of Bryan and Janet (Rick) Hageman of Stryker. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Helen Williams of Bronson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a daughter, Lisa Jaggers.


Visitation for Janet will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church, where the Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M., with the Rev. Father Stephen Stanbery, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter Cemetery, near Archbold. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the church or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.
