Hilltop 12, Waldron (MI) 2
The Cadets wasted little time in dominating their friends to the north with seven runs in the first inning. Hilltop added three runs in the third and two more in the fourth to end the contest in five innings. Quinn Smith, Jack Blaisdell drove in two runs apiece in the win as they each connected for doubles as did Andrew Denton and Jacob Champion. Hilltop used three pitchers in the win including Trenton Figy (1.1 innings), Christian McKinney (1.2 innings) and Jay Garrett (2.0 innings) the three combined to give up two runs on two hits with seven strike outs.
Edon 8, Fremont (IN) 6
In another out of state match up, the Edon Bombers won their second game of the season. After Fremont scored one run in the top of the third, the Bombers answered in their half of the third inning with five runs. Fremont put a total of five runs up over the fifth, sixth and seventh innings but the Bombers held on for the win. Carson Brandt was the winning pitcher for Edon as he gave up six runs on nine hits while striking out six. Kelby Sapp and Levi Brandt had two runs batted in each as Sapp slapped to singles and Brandt had one single. Preston Klingler connected for two singles that drove in a run and Carson Brandt added a single as well with one RBI.
