Arlean Ida Felger, 94, of Alvordton, passed from this life Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2017, at Evergreen Manor in Montpelier, following a brief period of declining health.

She was born November 9, 1922, in Fulton County, to the late Glenn and Emma (Seiler) Hochstetler. She married Carlton J. Felger on June 6, 1943, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2013.

Arlean was active as a teacher and musician at Ambrose Baptist Church, Gospel Tabernacle, and most recently at the Morenci Bible Fellowship. A 1940 graduate of Gorham-Fayette High School, she later was employed as its office secretary for eight years. Her primary vocation was serving her family as a loving farmer’s wife and homemaker.

Surviving Arlean is her son, Lee Felger, of Alvordton; a sister, Virge Fether of Fayette; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband of 70 years, Carlton, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlean Felger; a sister, Erva Blaker; and two brothers, Gaylord and Leroy Hochstetler.

Memorial contributions in honor of Arlean can be made to Gideons International or the Morenci Bible Fellowship. Friends can share memories and words of comfort with the family online at www.eaglefuneralhomes.com.
