It was a bright and sunny day in Pioneer, and perfect weather to gather around the gazebo in the downtown area to hold a service to honor the National Day of Prayer. Participants gathered at noon to pray for their nation, and to join in as pastors and other community representatives offered prayer. The local event was sponsored by the Pioneer Area Ministerial Association. Mayor Ed Kidston was on hand to welcome the crowd of men, women, and children, as he offered up a greeting and led the Pledge of Allegiance.[emember_protected custom_msg=”Full content protected for online subscribers. The National Day of Prayer is an annual event, and has been observed in the village at the gazebo in downtown Pioneer for several years.
