Irene Streeter (1928 – 2017)

Irene B. Streeter, age 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 6:50 P.M. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice after a brief illness.

Mrs. Streeter was a graduate of Paulding High School attended the Melbern United Methodist Church. She began her work career with Edgerton Metal Products and would later retire from Fleetwood Industries in Edgerton. In retirement she and her husband worked as security guards at Strydel in Stryker, Ohio. Irene cherished the time she spent with family, especially her great-grandchildren and a special niece, Kathy Saco-Gill.

Irene B. Streeter was born on May 22, 1928, in Bluecreek Township, Paulding County, Ohio the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth (Lee) Saco. She married Richard Streeter on July 19, 1952 in Columbia City, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2010.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Whitney, of Edgerton; two granddaughters, Dawn Tocaciu and Alicia (Mitchell) Christlieb; three grandsons, Jason, Jarrod and Richard Streeter, three great-grandchildren, Brianna Kaydine Shankster, Brantley Roger Vincent Shankster and Elizabeth Strasbourg; two brothers, Gerald (Carol) Saco of Defiance, Ohio and John (Brigitte) Saco, of, Paulding; and a special niece, Kathy Saco-Gill, of Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; two stepsons, Doug and Edward Streeter; her son-in-law, Junior Whitney; two grandsons, Edward Vincent Whitney and Michael Whitney; and two sisters, Delores Saco, and Violet Stockman; a nephew, Gary Saco; and a brother-in-law, David Streeter.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in the Melbern United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery near Bryan.

Memorials are requested to the Melbern United Methodist Church or to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice.
