Beryl Grisier (1939 – 2017)

Beryl L. Grisier, age 78, of Stryker, passed away peacefully at Laurels Nursing Home in Defiance, Ohio, on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Beryl was born in Stryker on February 19, 1939, the son of William and Helen (Perkins) Grisier. Prior to retirement, Beryl worked for NTA Graphics, a sales printing firm. Beryl was also a veteran of the US Navy. Beryl attended the Stryker United Methodist Church where he devoted his time to the sound system, printing the bulletins, and even playing the organ. Beryl thoroughly enjoyed cheering for his Cleveland Indians and attending Tuesday morning coffee meetings at his brother Fred’s house.

Beryl is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Deana; brother Robert Grisier; and brother David Grisier. Surviving Beryl is son Anthony (Christina) Grisier of Napoleon; daughter Elizabeth (Mike Paxton) Grisier of Bryan; and son Michael (Bonnie Lloyd) Grisier of Stryker; and two step-daughters: Tracy Murray of Toledo and Erin O’Bryan of Toledo. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Surviving also is a brother Frederick (Helen) Grisier of Stryker and a sister, Phyllis Grisier Reed of Centerville, Ohio.

Visitation for Beryl will be held at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker, Ohio on Thursday, January 4, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held directly following the visitation at 2 PM with The Reverend Dr. James Ernst of the Stryker United Methodist Church, officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Stryker United Methodist Church or the benevolence of the family. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Homes of Stryker, Ohio have been entrusted with the arrangements.
