Alta M. Bordner, 95 passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at her son’s home in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born December 22, 1917 in Montpelier to Harley J. and Rosa R. (Buda) Hart. Alta had lived the past four and half years in Knoxville.
Alta graduated from Pioneer High School in 1935. She had worked for Allied Moulded Products in Bryan as a machine operator, 3-M in Montpelier and Fayette Tubular in Fayette.

Alta is survived by one son: James D. Bordner of Knoxville, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Craig Bordner,Christopher Bordner and Lori Ann Ruthford, four great grandchildren, Christyna Echard, Seth and Rachel Bordner and Camryn Ruthford; one great great grandchild, Gabrielle McAuliffe; two sisters: Iola Aderholdt and Donna Harrington both of Pioneer.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Thomas Bordner in 1957, one sister: Irene Rupp and two half sisters: Mable Brown and Neva Reese and one daughter-in-law: Mary Kay Bordner in 2009.

Preferred donations are to Meals on Wheels. The Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at thethompsonfuneralhome.com
