Trey was a 2016 graduate of Edon High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. The Montpelier Lady Locomotives invaded The Hangar in Edon for the opening match of D-IV Sectional play against the Lady Bombers on the evening of October 18. The Belles in Bomber Blue were more than up to the task of defending their home hardwood as they sent Montpelier packing in straight sets, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-18. Cowabunga, dude! On the evening of October 21, a special pregame benefit dinner was held in the cafeteria of the Archbold High School on behalf of seven year-old Cody Cornell. Born with Goldenhar’s Syndrome, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle wannabe Cody has been deaf since birth. Although he lives in Delta, he attends second grade in Archbold. In March of this year, Cody’s life took an unexpected turn with a diagnosis of leukemia. On July 6th-9th, Jayma Bailey, a 6th grader at Hilltop Elementary School, attended the McCracken Basketball Camp hosted at the Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. While there, she was evaluated and competed to make it to the 27th Annual McCracken Super Shootout in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The annual “under the lights” games for the Midget Football teams took place at Harmon Field in Wauseon. The idea of the event is to give the 5th and 6th teams an opportunity to see what playing under the lights is like. The Red, Black, White and Grey teams took part. An Archbold man is waiting to tell the world how he did on Wheel of Fortune. Josh Parrott traveled to Los Angeles in September to tape his show and become one of 600 people out of a million hopefuls to appear on the syndicated game show. Police Chief Dan McGee said only five to six adults showed up at the station the morning of Oct. 20, along with the same number of children. Floyd Elton, Jr., age 98, met his Lord and Savior face to face, Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2016. He was born September 13, 1918 in Swancreek Township to Floyd, Sr. and Anna (Schwyn) Elton.
