MONTPELIER – Montpelier jumped out to a 9-0 lead after two innings and the Locos defeated Stryker, 10-2, in Buckeye Border Conference action.
The Locos (8-3, 5-0) managed only three hits but also took advantage of five Stryker errors and eight walks in the contest.
Jaxon Stahler drove in two runs with a double to lead Montpelier, and Kenneth Smeltzer drove in the other run with a double.
Kenneth Smeltzer was also the winning pitcher for the Locos, allowing no runs on no hits with six strikeouts in two innings. Smeltzer was one of six pitchers for the Locos used in the game and combined for 15 strikeouts.
Walker Atkinson collected the lone base hit for Stryker (1-9, 1-4 BBC) with a single.
