(Worked At Sauder Manufacturing In Archbold)

Beth Ellen Mellott, age 66, of Montpelier, Ohio and Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at CHP – Defiance Inpatient Hospice. Prior to her retirement in 2019 she had worked as a CAD Operator at Sauder Manufacturing in Archbold.

Beth was born in Wauseon, Ohio on March 4, 1957, the daughter of Clyde H. and Irene L. (Thourot) Savage.

Beth married Bill Mellott in 1991 and they enjoyed 32 years together. Although Beth’s favorite pastime was spending time with Bill, she had many hobbies throughout her lifetime.

In her high school years, she was the mascot for the Wauseon Indians sports. Beth enjoyed the many friends she made as she participated in softball, bowling, golfing, and playing cards.

Surviving, besides her husband, Bill, are two stepsons: Bryan (Chelsea) Mellott of Reno, NV, Brad (Anthony) Mellott of West Palm Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Quin, Myra, Carter, Braden, and Ashlyn. Also surviving is a sister, Susie (Mike) Giguere of Wauseon; three brothers, Robert (Janet) Savage of Sunnyvale, CA, William (Barb) Savage of Delta, Thom (Cindy) Savage of Wauseon, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cheryl Savage-Head.

Baking was Beth’s love language, and she supplied the whole family with holiday treats, often delivering pies to their homes. Her beloved nieces and nephews cherished the many crafts and homemade gifts from their Aunt Beth.

When Beth and Bill lived at Lake Seneca, she enjoyed lake activities and being around the water. After retirement, Beth and Bill spent their winters in Leesburg, FL where she volunteered for many committees and helped elderly neighbors. Beth will always be remembered for her sharp wit and great sense of humor.

Visitation for Beth will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at St. Caspar’s Catholic Church in Wauseon. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, October 5, 2023, also at the church, with Father Todd Dominique, officiating.

The family requests that memorial contributions be to St. Caspar Catholic Church or CHP – Defiance Inpatient Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon.
