The Brady Township Trustees met in a regular session on Monday, April 27 at the Brady Township Fire Department.
Chairman Willie Grime called the meeting to order. The roll call followed with Grime, Jim Eisel, and Tim Nofziger all present. The minutes from the April 13 meeting were approved.
A motion was made to accept the quote from Ward Construction Co. of Leipsic to chip and seal County Roads 21-50, 22-30, and M-50 at the cost of $66,081.60. The trustees then decided to chip and seal County Road 21-50 at a later date.

Grime made a motion to enter a contract to participate in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) road salt program. The township will be ordering 88 tons of salt for the 2026-27 winter season.
Trustees will be ordering another load of stone for the storage building. It was decided that instead of grading a layer of grass/dirt for the storage building, perhaps spraying the grass before adding the stone.
It was also noted that after recent hard rains there was flooding on County Road M near County Road 20. There were several culverts that were broken and needed to be fixed.
Brady Township Fire Chief Justin Smith presented an updated Fire Department employment application, compacting the information that was formerly distributed in separate forms into one, to make the process easier.

Smith also discussed restarting the Explorers Program for the Fire Department. Eisel made a motion for the set pay of $5 per meeting or call, and Nofziger seconded it. The trustees approved the motion by a 3-0 vote.
He also brought up where to go in the future to get the fire department radios repaired. Currently, they are using J&K Communications in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He also talked about the option of switching to P&R Communications in Oregon, Ohio. Smith told the trustees they may have to investigate pagers in the future.
Eisel presented a quote from R&P Aerial in the amount of approximately $800-$1,000 for the removal of the tree at Floral Grove Cemetery. If the township removes the wood, the cost will be lower.
Grime made the motion to accept the quote with Nofziger seconding it. The trustees approved the motion by a 3-0 vote.
With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
