SCCF photo 2015 WEBAngola, Ind. – The Cameron Hospital Foundation was recently honored to accept a $37,112.50 grant from the Steuben County Community Foundation. The gift was made from the Steuben County Cancer Association endowment fund. The funds donated were designated to assist the Regional Cancer Care Center and was specifically used for the purchase of patient chemotherapy chairs and chemotherapy infusion pumps.

The endowment fund was started in 1999 by the Steuben County Cancer Association. Since that first contribution, the fund has grown dramatically through generous contributions from individual donors as well as an $84,000+ contribution from the estate of Burl and Mary Jane Hall last year. “What better way to see groups come together and community members honored, than through a gift that will be used to help so many people,” said Jennifer Danic, President and CEO of the Steuben County Community Foundation.

The new chairs and pumps were recently purchased and are in use in the center. “We are so grateful to both the Steuben County Community Foundation and the Steuben County Cancer Association for this very generous gift,” said Laura Lutterbeck, Executive Director, Cameron Hospital Foundation. “Any time we are able to both assist our patients and provide additional comfort measures to them during a health crisis is truly a blessing.”
