Carl D. AyersCarl D. Ayers, age 69, of Wauseon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Mercy St. Anne Hospital in Toledo. He was born in Wauseon on August 5, 1946 to the late William “David” Ayers and Mildred (Drennan) Ayers. Carl was a graduate of Pettisville High School in 1964. On June 4, 1980 he married Beverly Weber and together were blessed with two daughters, Kristen and Elizabeth.

Carl was a Veteran having served with the U.S Army during the Vietnam War. While being a lifelong farmer, he served 38 years as a postal carrier for the U.S Postal Service; before retiring in 2004. Some of his fondest hobbies included woodworking and house remodeling.

Along with his wife of 35 years, Beverly Weber-Ayers; he is survived by his daughters, Kristen Ayers-Crossgrove and husband, Jacob; Elizabeth Ayers-Chittenden and husband, Kevin, both of Wauseon; grandchildren, Allena and Adelynn Crossgrove and Brody and Zayden Chittenden; sister, Hazel (Robert) McQuillen of St. Johns, FL and Lowell (Nancy) Ayers of Wauseon.

A funeral service celebrating Carl’s life will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 398 S. Shoop Ave, Wauseon, Ohio 43567; where the family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Pastor Tim Sonnenberg will be officiating. Private family interment at Wauseon Union Cemetery will precede the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon or Wauseon Safety City, c/o the Wauseon Police Department, 230 Clinton St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
