Danial Frederick Rupp, age 86, ran into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Tuesday, November 5, 2024 after a valiantly fought battle with illness.
Danial was born on August 4, 1938. He was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, Class of 1956.
Dan was an active member of Shiloh Christian Union Church as a bible teacher, a worker in the youth ministry, and coordinated Cherry Street Missions services for years, and later in life attended Shiloh’s sister church County Chapel Christian Union Church.
He was also a 4-H leader for years. Dan served in the National Guard. He retired as a journeyman electrician and was a member of Local 8 for 50 years. A small farmer, Dan raised beef and hogs and was an avid gardener and provided well for his family.
After the loss of his beloved Arlene to cancer after 33 years of marriage and a hard travel through loneliness, Dan found and shared the rest of his life with Rita Matthews to whom he was married nearly 30 years.
He leaves behind his loving, devoted wife Rita; children Amy (Mark) Miller, Paul (Christine) Rupp, Beth (John) Luppino, Carol (Brian) Sigler, and Marita (Joshua) Kalichman; grandchildren Amanda (Ben) Decker, Michael Miller, Jessica (Kevin) Lermer, Andrew Rupp, Justin Rupp, Katherine Luppino, Olivia Luppino, Samantha (Matthew) Salinas, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Sigler, Rebekah (Christian) Ward, and Rachel and Libi Kalichman; great grandchildren Riley and Shelby Decker and Madison Lermer. Still surviving is Dan’s brother John (Lois) Rupp.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Cleora (Gallant) Rupp, brothers Gaylen and Larry Rupp and his first wife Arlene (Jones) Rupp.
Visitation will be held at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Route 109 Delta, Ohio on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Funeral services for Dan will be held at Country Chapel Christian Union Church, Q-111 Co Rd 6B, Napoleon, Ohio 43545 on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Jeff Davis will be officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Delta.
