Daniel David Shaw, age 68, of rural Montpelier, Ohio, died at 1:03 P.M. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, in his home. Mr. Shaw was a graduate of Edon High School and had worked on farms and in manufacturing prior to moving to Port Charlotte, Florida, with his parents, where he had served as a volunteer fireman. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio.
Daniel David Shaw was born on January 11, 1951, son of John D. and Dorothy Mae (Stevens) Shaw.
Survivors include one brother, Samuel Shaw, of Mansfield, Ohio, and formerly of Montpelier; two nephews, Ryan (Kari) Shaw, of Montpelier, and Chad Shaw, of Edon; one niece, Staci (Dave) Johnson, of Mansfield; and numerous great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Johnathon Wayne Shaw; and his sister-in-law, Jill Shaw.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church, 4016 County Road M.50, Edon, Ohio. Services will follow at 12:00 noon in the church with Pastor Mike Slagle officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 P.M. in Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity, Ohio.
