Edgerton Board Of Education Discuss Safer Routes To School

The Edgerton Board of Education met on February 8th in regular session.

During the meeting the Board approved the Edgar 2.0 Board Policy, which is language on Federal Procurement. The Board also approved the 2021-2022 school calendar.

In Personnel, the following supplemental contracts were approved- Jacob Siebenaler- Assistant Varsity Baseball, Nora Jackson- High School Musical (Drama) Advisor. The following volunteer positions were also approved- Aeriel Hobeck- Track, Keith Merillat- Baseball, and Nolan Swank-Baseball.


It was also reported that graduation plans for this Spring are underway. The plan is to have the ceremony on the football field, weather permitting. The stage has been reserved, a speaker has been secured, and planning has begun with senior class advisor Mrs. Merillat.

Plans were also discussed to move the Central Offices to the school’s Annex building. Administration has met with Garmin/Miller to discuss the transition. A follow up meeting has been scheduled to discuss square footage and project cost.

Finally, Superintendent Kermit Riehle met with Edgerton Village Administrators in regards to upgrading the caution and crosswalk lighting along with street painting to increase safety of students that need to cross St Rt 49 to reach school.


Discussion was also had regarding installing more sidewalks on West River Street to add a safer route to school.

The next meeting of the Edgerton Board of Education will be March 15th.
