(September 22nd, 2014)-EDON: Despite getting off to a good start, the Lady Bombers of Edon dropped a home match to non-conference opponent Hicksville.
The match was tight from the start. Game 1 was a brutal slug fest, with the hometown Bombers winning 25-22. The Lady Aces would rebound from the loss, however. In the second set, the Edon girls fought hard, but couldn’t keep pace with Hicksville, dropping the game 19-25. Ever resilient, Edon tried to bounce back in game 3. The Aces were ready for them, and the Bombers lost the set 21-25. Game 4 saw the Lady Bombers run out of gas, losing the set 17-25.
Alex Kiess set things up for the Bombers, making 14 assists to along with her 7 kills and 6 digs. Nicole Newell, in turn, provided a good portion of the scoring with her 13 kills in addition to 11 digs and an ace. Kaitlin Chrisman got after the ball, amassing 17 digs, as well as 2 kills, 2 aces, and an assist.
