(September 22nd, 2014)-EDON: A mere four strokes separated first place from third at Windwood Hollow.
The hosting Bombers of Edon invited Montpelier and Hilltop to their native golf course. With a team score of 199, the home town Bombers took the victory by the narrowest of margins, as Montpelier laid claim to second place with a 201. Hilltop was close as well, shooting a 203 as a unit.
Edon’s Alex Kirkingburg and Montpelier’s Hunter Shaull split medalist honors, with each competitor firing a 42.
Jim Peckham put up a 46 on Edon’s behalf. Hayden Runyan and Evan Fisk rounded out the Bomber scoring, turning in a 53 and 58, respectively.
Also for the Locomotives, Sam Rings offered up a 49. Fellow Loco Andrew Luke contributed a 50, while Clay O’Neal shot a 60 to finish the Montpelier total.
Hilltop was led by Isaac VanArsdalen and his 48 strokes. Teammate Colin Sabins was close behind with a 50. Trevor Shipman shot a 51 for Hilltop as well, and fellow Cadet Zach Roehrs managed a 54 to complete the team’s scoring.
