Justin-Braun-Eagle-Scout-Oc WEBJustin Braun has achieved his Eagle Scout rank, the highest honor in Boy Scouting. He is a member of Edon Troop 5 chartered by Edon Church of Christ and is under the leadership of Scoutmaster Jim Braun.

Justin’s scouting career began as a Tiger scout in first grade. Having worked through the Cub Scout advancement trail ~ Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos (receiving also the Leave No Trace Award) ~ he earned Cub Scout’s highest award, Arrow of Light with Den Leader Chris Wilson. Justin later reached Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class rankings in 2011; Star in 2012 and Life in 2013.

Additionally, Justin fulfilled the requirements to earn thirty merit badges and ultimately attained his Eagle Scout rank on August 4, 2015. His successfully planned Eagle project ~ painting, mulching and placing benches at Baker Park in downtown Edon ~ came to completion earlier this month. Justin is very appreciative of the support received in carrying out his project and offers special thanks to Theta Kappa Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and Edon Farmers Co-op for their donations as well as the many volunteers who helped out.

The fourteen year-old son of Jim and Tammy Braun, Justin has two older brothers, JJ and Josh (who are also Eagle Scouts) and a younger sister, Wendy. The EHS sophomore is very active in extracurricular activities, participating in basketball, track and choir; he is also a member of Edon Church of Christ.

Justin will receive his Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor to be held at a later date.
