Elizabeth Norris (1941 – 2024)

(Enjoyed Crafting & Tending To Flower Gardens)

Elizabeth Helena Norris, age 83 of Sylvania, Ohio, entered into eternal life, Tuesday evening, November 12, 2024, with her family at her side.

Beth was born June 30, 1941 in Assumption to Cyrillus and Helena (Coesfeld) Herr. Beth was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary’s School and completed her Automation certification from Davis Business college that same year.

She married her beloved husband of 55 years, Roger Marion Norris on October 21, 1967. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2022.


Beth and Roger loved dancing and traveling together. Cards and games with friends and family were a beloved pastime which she enjoyed throughout her life. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and reveled in finding unique flowers and pots to accent their home each season.

Beth had a contagious zest for life and love of crafting. She always came up with a special project each year for not only loved ones, but also her son Tom’s classmates and caregivers.

Her passion for crafting was often accompanied by her joy of shopping, where she found unique materials and inspirations for her creations. She was most known for her contagious smile and bubbly personality.


Beth is survived by her children Jeffrey Norris, Jennifer (Charles) Ruetz, Tamara (Ralph) Hall, and Thomas Norris; grandchildren Kaitlin (Blake) Parker, Connor (Fiancee Sylvie Domigan) Ruetz, Kamryn Ruetz, Chandler Ruetz, Adam Norris and great granddaughter, Ivy Elizabeth Parker.

Beth is also survived by her siblings, Mike (Norma) Herr, twin sister Theresa Herr, Dan (Auneta) Herr, Randy Herr, Rick (Jill) Herr; sister-in-law, Julie Herr; step-mother-in-law, Mildred (O’Brien) Norris; sisters-in-law, Jan Little, Bev Hollingsworth, Patti Wegener, Martha (Karl) Weitzel; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrillus and Helena Herr; step-mother, Phyllis Herr; brother, Pete Herr; brother-in-law, James Norris; sister-in-law, Sandra Norris; nephews Bruce Harding and Allan Wegener; and niece Brianne Zuver.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 17th from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Vigil Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, November 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Walter Tuscano presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Catholic War Veterans Post #306, First Health Hospice or Caring for Yours LLC.
