Fayette Lady Eagles Escape The Railyard With A Hard Fought Win Over Montpelier

February 5, 2013Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

MONTPELIER – The Fayette Lady Eagles are currently enjoying one of their most successful seasons in recent history. On January 26, they took their game to Montpelier to take on the Lady Locomotives. The Railyard does not favor winning records; it is a tough place for visitors to win, and this day proved no different.

The hometown girls ran out to an early five-point lead, but the visitors battled tooth and nail to get back to even footing at 19-19 at the half. The Lady Locos ran single point deficits in the third and fourth period scoring though, and that proved to be their undoing as Fayette escaped town with a narrow 45-43 win.

Mikayla Smith and Kaela Seiler led the Lady Eagles with 12 and 11 points respectively. Taylor Griffiths put in 8 points, Ashtyn Baker, Melani Seiler and Allison Cuff had 4 points apiece, and Paige Keefer had 2.
Hannah Blake fired off a game-high 17 for the Lady Locos, with Lauren Dye adding 13 points, Bailee Hartman 6, Aleah Maas 4 points, Hayley Geren a deuce and Christina Prather a free throw.
