Local History
Verna Williams has been working really hard at the library lately doing a lot of research on the Fayette businesses, past and present. She has made a list of all the businesses that have occupied a specific address, from the first one ever to open their doors, to the present day. She has listed the name of the business and the owners, along with photos if she was able to find them. All of this is available on a flash drive to view or check out here at the library.

Thursdays at 7
The Book Club will meet Thursday, January 28, 2016. The book that will be discussed is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
In the quiet village of Carriveau, France 1939, Vianne Mauriac says good-bye to her husband Antoine, as he heads for the Front. She doesn’t believe that the Nazis will invade France, but invade they do.
When a German captain requisitions Vianne’s home, she and her daughter must live with the enemy or lose everything. Without food or money or hope, as danger escalates all around them, she is forced to make one impossible choice after another to keep her family alive.
Vianne’s sister, Isabelle, is a rebellious eighteen-year-old, searching for purpose with all the reckless passion of youth. Isabelle meets Gaëtan, a partisan who believes the French can fight the Nazis from within France, and she falls completely in love with him. But when he betrays her, Isabelle joins the Resistance and never looks back, risking her life time and again to save others.
If you are interested in joining the book club, stop in the Library and pick up a book.
