Hilltop Lady Cadets Route In County Rival Montpelier Locomotives On The Road

MONTPELIER: February 1, 2014 – The Hilltop Lady Cadets took to the road for a tilt with next-door rival Montpelier on February 1, blasting the Lady Locomotives 63-47 to move to 12-4 on the season.

For the Hilltop Cadets on the night, Hannah Bleikamp led the way with 20 points on the night along with 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Emily Armbruster turned in a huge performance, scoring17 while turning out 4 assists; LeAnn Joost hit for 8 while snagging 5 boards and Destiny Denton followed up with 7 in the game. Also on the board for the Lady Cadets, Kailey Creamer had 6 points, 4 assists and 2 steals, Bailey Funkhouser scored 4 and Kayla Settlemire added a free thrown to round out the Lady Cadet scoring.

As a team, Hilltop shot 46 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point range. The Lady Cadets also recorded 23 assists on the night while committing 10 turnovers. The Lady Cadets lost the battle on the boards to the Lady Locos 35-24.

For the Lady Loco’s Hannah Blake turned in a game high 21 point scoring performance while teammate Baylee Hageman joined her in double figures with 15. Regan Steffes had 5, Breanna Stein added 3, Maddie Richmond hit for a bucket while McKenna Quaderer rounded out the scoring with 1 from the line.
