The Jefferson Township Board of Trustees met on Monday, May 4, 2026, with discussions focused on cybersecurity policies, drainage concerns, cemetery deeds, and township finances.
Chairman Austin Poynter called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Trustees Poynter, Brian Batterson, Scott Oberlin, and Fiscal Officer Linda Beck were present.
Beck presented the township’s cybersecurity policy along with a resolution for approval.
Trustees also discussed ongoing drainage concerns located on County Road M and County Road 16. Batterson stated that a third party would review the issue and provide an estimate for tile repairs. The matter was tabled for further consideration.
An additional drainage concern on County Road M was also discussed after Chairman Poynter noted another area was not draining properly. Trustees stated they would ask the county to jet the affected areas. That matter was also tabled.
Several cemetery-related matters were also approved during the meeting. Fiscal Officer Beck presented several cemetery deeds for review. Two lots in the seventh addition were additionally sold back to the township for the amount of $160.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
