Kathleen Will (1942 – 2023)

(Taught Kindergarten At Stryker Schools)

Kathleen Will, 81, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday September 9, 2023, at Parkview Randallia Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Bethel – Gilead Community Church. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Kathleen was born July 19, 1942, to William and Betty (Esterline) Freese in Montpelier, OH. She attended Defiance and Hillsdale College, graduating from Hillsdale College with her bachelor’s degree, as well as earning a master’s degree from Michigan State University.


Kathleen was a teacher at Quincy Community Schools for 35 years, retiring in 1997. She was the branch manager for Quincy Public Library, and taught one year of kindergarten in Stryker, OH, retiring in 2000. Kathleen married Ronald E. Will September 2, 2000.

Mrs. Will served on the Girl Scout Council and was a Den Mother for the Quincy Girl Scouts. She taught Sunday School and Bible School along with singing in the choir and serving as personnel and nominating committees for the Union Church in Quincy.

She was involved with the Family Promise through Bethel Gilead Church and volunteered at the Bronson Food Pantry.


Kathleen enjoyed many things including crocheting, reading, poetry, fishing, traveling, flowers, and spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Will of Coldwater; her children Derrick (Erin) Veysey of Quincy and Alicia (Mike) Marriott of Quincy; her step son Joshua Will of Evanston, IL; her siblings William (Janet) Freese of Montpelier, OH, and Kristina (Bill) Bishop of Montpelier, OH; her grandchildren Isaac White, Brogan White, Braylon Veysey, and Kaylea Veysey; her great-grandchildren Atticus Dean and baby girl coming soon Hadley Euleta; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Bonnie Hughes and Joy Porter. Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved dog DD.

Memorials may be directed to the Branch County Human Society in honor of DD.
