Larry R. Sullivan, age 78, of Stryker, died Monday, February 15, 2021, as the result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Larry was born in Wauseon to Robert and Martha (Green) Sullivan. He was a lifelong resident of Stryker, Ohio.
He is survived by daughter Robin (Eric) Stewart of Delphos Ohio, Grandsons Kyle (Theresa) Stewart, Kevin (Tara) Stewart of Columbus, Ohio and Craig Stewart of Reston, Virginia, six grand dogs a grand cat, and Larry had just learned of a great-grand child arriving this summer.
Also surviving are sister, Anna Marie (Jeff) Sprow of Stryker, brother-in-laws Jim Grahn of Stryker, and Dave (Betsy) Grahn of Napoleon, Ohio, nephews Randy (Kris) Deniston, Jason (Sarah Nicole) Sprow of Defiance, Ohio, Joshua (Amanda) Sprow of Maumee, Ohio and niece Michelle (Matt) Yoder of Charlotte, North Carolina. Larry is also survived by ex wives Kay (Gary) Woolace and Bonnie Hall.
Larry will be missed by his best buddies Snickers, Edith and Tippy.
Preceding him in death were his parents, infant son Robert Troy Sullivan and wife Denise (Grahn) Sullivan.
Larry was president of the 1960 graduating class of Stryker High School and worked at Stryker Farmers Exchange after graduation. He was then employed at Dinner Bell foods in Archbold, moving to the Defiance plant when the Archbold plant closed.
After Defiance Dinner Bell closed, Larry was a correctional officer at CCNO. Upon retiring from CCNO Larry was a meat cutter at Pettisville Meats until 2004. Larry had also served as a Springfield township trustee. In his early years Larry was a basketball official for the OHSAA.
Larry also pitched horseshoes with the Brushcreek Horseshoe Club and followed sports his entire life. Larry owned his own small farm and was a farmer at heart.
Larry was a 50 year member of West Unity Superior Lodge #179, Evansport Fox Club, Eagles, Moose Lodge and recently joined the AmVets as a social member.
Larry will be remembered for his social nature, always making new friends. Larry always had a quirky joke or story to contribute. He especially enjoyed telling off color jokes to his grandsons, mostly to irritate his wife (Grandma Denise).
Larry was generous, caring and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold. Most of all Larry was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather to be.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Stryker Public Library, Williams County Humane Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.

I was privileged to know Larry from one of his daily stops he is described perfectly and will be missed
Robin and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences, Sully was a wonderful man.He was such a jokester and smiling.
Larry will surely be missed by his classmates and anyone who knew him. I was glad to chat with him at a class zoom meeting in November.
