Zane E. Dirr, age 30, of Delta, passed away from injuries received in an auto accident early Sunday morning, January 12, 2025 in St. Joseph County, Michigan.
He was born in Toledo on December 13, 1994 to Kam (Spiess) Denton and Corey E. Dirr. Zane attended Delta High School and later studied at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania.
Most recently Zane was serving as an auto body technician with the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant. He was a free spirit by nature, full of humor and able to make anyone laugh.
He enjoyed comedy on many levels, including attending shows, watching programs and even taking the stage himself on occasion. Zane also had a talent for music, where he was gifted as a guitarist and drummer. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. To him family was the center of everything in his life.
Zane is survived by his mother, Kam (Maurice) Denton of Shermans Dale, PA; father, Corey E. Dirr of Louisiana; brother, Hunter Denton; sister, Brooklyn Denton; maternal grandparents, Trachelle Nisely and Shane (Tracey) Spiess; paternal grandparents, Richard Dirr; maternal great grandparents, Merril (Jan) Spiess; uncle and aunts, Ryan (Kendra) Spiess, Candi Dirr, Ricky Dirr and Debbie Turner; best friend, J.B; along with many loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmothers, Nancy Nisley and Sue Spiess; paternal grandmother, Jeanette Dirr; cousin, Brice Fenske; great uncle, Chad Spiess and cousin, Toby Shehorn.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Hwy 109 in Delta. A funeral service celebrating Zane’s life will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Pastor Maryann Reimund will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to direct memorial contributions to the family, care of Kam Denton for a honoring cause to be determined later in Zane’s memory.
