The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Wednesday, January 5th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council first moved to swear-in Julie Fenicle and Mark Bryson for their new term as council members. AJ Call and Jimmy Thornton were then appointed to the vacant seats by council.
A vote was then held for Council President with Julie Fenicle receiving the votes for the position. Council then voted to approve Resolution 22-01 for the 2022 temporary appropriations.
A discussion was then held with it being decided that RITA, which is a regional income tax agency, would be used to send letters out to individuals who have past due tax balances.
Resolution 22-02 for the Emergency Management Agency was then approved before a discussion was held regarding a request from the Evergreen cross country team.
The team would like to do a 5k/10-mile race in Lyons as part of a fundraiser. More discussion will take place between council and the team.
The arrival of more salt on December 11th was then discussed before council moved to adjourn for the evening.
