On Tuesday, January 14th Mainstreet Edgerton held their launch party at the Edgerton Church of Christ to kick off exciting news surrounding their new organization. Community members and business owners joined to enjoy food before listening to Jeff Lyon’s presentation.

Lyon explained that the name change better suits the mission and vision of the organization. The mission is to unite local businesses, industries, and the community in the Edgerton Area.

The vision is to be a hub for community ideas and events and to make Edgerton a wonderful place to reside.

Other important parts of the organization shown in the presentation were Integrity and inspiring trust with the members and community.

Community-fostering strong relationships with businesses and community members. Diversity- offers equity and inclusion.

Collaboration- authentic partnerships with the community and sustainability to inspire growth for Edgerton’s business community and citizens.

Also presented were future events for the village including Easter egg hunt, village-wide garage sales, homecoming, fall festival, trunk or treat, and Lighted Santa Parade.

Also discussed were new programs including Clem Awards (citizen of the year), Harvest Festival and Adopt a Pot (decorating downtown flowerpots).

A program coming back to the community suggested by Edgerton resident and business owner Jennifer Goebel was Welcome Wagon for new residents. Goebel offered to run the program because volunteers are desperately needed.

Mainstreet Edgerton runs on donations from investors and volunteers. Different levels of investment are Bronze level $100, Silver – $500, Gold – $1,000, and Platinum – $2,500. Each investment level also includes different perks depending on the level.

Lyon explained that funds are helpful and necessary, but volunteers are needed for events such as Homecoming which takes up much of the budget.

If interested in volunteering or becoming an investor please visit info@MainStreetEdgerton.me and reach out to the board members Bob Day, Cheryl Karnes, Jeff Lyon, Khris Sines, and Danielle Tanner.

The board is also looking to fill two vacant positions, and all board members need to be investors.
