PETTISVILLE: February 10, 2014 – The Pettisville Blackbirds may have had a firm hand on the BBC title for 2014, but the NWOAL Liberty Center Tigers took them to task in interleague play, 58-50.

Pettisville came out on fire in the first period, doubling up on the Tigers in an 18-9 run, but then their offense went into hibernation. 16-3 and 17-8 runs by the Tigers in the second and third periods not only obliterated their deficit, but threatened a blowout. The Birds were able to rally in the fourth, but the clock ended all hopes for a comeback.

Korben Rychener led Pettisville with 17 points, and Josh Liechty had 10. Eli King posted 8 points, Austin Dykstra had 7, Tate Kauffman 6 and Jacob Reyes 2 points.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Liberty Center 9 16 17 16 – 58

Pettisville 18 3 8 21 – 50
