(May 2nd, 2015) – WAUSEON: Taking to the Wauseon junior varsity field in the tournament’s consolation game, the Locomotives of Montpelier JV squad did battle with their counterparts from Swanton. While the game was a back and forth affair, the young Bulldogs were able to pull away late in the contest to earn the victory.
Montpelier fell to Swanton by a 5-2 margin.
Suffering the loss for the Locos was Kyrin Schuman. Despite some strong pitching and solid fielding by the sophomore, he wasn’t able to fully contain the explosive Swanton offense for the duration of seven innings.
Leading the Locomotive bats was freshman Kolden Uribes. From the batter’s box, he was able to produce a single and a double. Garret Frantom, Wyatt Beck, and Remington Beck all added singles as well in the loss.
