WEST UNITY: April 9– The Montpelier Locomotives hit the road to neighboring Hilltop for a final tune up before starting NWOAL action on April 9, taking down the Cadets 13-4. The Locos broke the game wide open in the 4th inning outscoring the Cadets 9-2 in the final 4 innings to secure the victory.
On the mound, Jazmine Becker took the setback, pitching 1 2/3rds innings, allowing 6 runs off of 4 hits. Also seeing action, Alyssa Swank allowed 9 hits along with 5 runs while Makayla Hayes cleaned up the final 3, striking out 2 and keeping 1st base clean with no hits.
Offensively for the Lady Eagles, Reese Cogswell hit a solo home run, while Hayes connected for two singles. Abbey Litzenberg and Macayla Wildrick contributed the remaining hits, connecting for singles.
