BRYAN — Thanks to an 11-run fifth inning, Evergreen broke open a close contest in capturing a 17-4 six-inning victory over Bryan as the Vikings kept their Northwest Ohio Athletic League title hopes alive.
Chris Shrader led the Vikings (7-6, 4-1 NWOAL) with three hits including a double, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice.
Brendan Holman had two hits, including a double, drove in two runs and scored twice. Troy Manz, Blake Boucher, and Nolan Hudik each had two hits, and J.J. Johnson doubled.
Bryce Welling and Cam Bukowski led Bryan (7-7, 2-3 NWOAL) with two hits each while Cade Carlin tripled.
Hudik was also the winning pitcher for the Vikings. He allowed four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
