Our beloved Pam Chesnut left this earthly world December 18, 2021. Born September 08, 1940 to Richard and Mary Etta (Dominique) Lauber,  Pam was a fun-loving, kind hearted, free spirit.

She lived much of her adult life in Houston, TX  where she enjoyed the sun and warmer climate. Her favorite food remained tacos to the end, with an occasional margarita or cold beer to wash it down!

For several years,  Pam bravely and lovingly cared for William R. “Sam” Chesnut, her partner in life, as he battled early onset dementia. Sam passed in March, 1992.

Pam lived her life simply and passionately. She retired from Chase Bank after taking care of her customers for 30 + years. She made dear friends along the way.

Pam relocated back to Northwest Ohio in the Spring of 2015. She was able to reconnect with family and some Archbold High School classmates (class of ’58).

Pam’s smile and wit lit up a room, as did her “fire engine” red hair and twinkle in her eye. She lived her last few years at Genacross Lutheran Napoleon Campus.

Our family is eternally grateful for the Genacross team’s compassionate care. They adored and laughed with her and she in return. We are also appreciative of Grace Hospice for providing timely and loving care as Pam transitioned peacefully.

Pam’s zest for life was equally matched by her love of family. She kept every card, photo and letter she received from siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pam is survived by her dear brothers, Thomas Lauber (Barb), Edward Lauber (Bonnie) and Robert Lauber. She has dearly missed, and now met again, her sister Mary Ellyn (Lauber) Blank who predeceased her.

A brother and sisters through marriage and a nephew have gone before:  Theodore “Ted” Blank, Betty Lauber, Bonnie Lauber, and Mark Lauber.  Auntie Pam will be fondly remembered by 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to pay respects may do so Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  in the Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold, Ohio. A memorial service will follow the time of visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Father Stephen Stanbery will officiate. The family is then invited for a private graveside service and interment at St. Caspar Catholic Church Cemetery, Wauseon, Ohio where Pam will be laid to rest. A broader celebration of Pam’s life is being considered for early Spring 2022 in hopes that the pandemic eases and we can gather more comfortably to share memories and offer “cheers” to Pam.

In lieu of flowers and other memorial items, the family kindly suggests contributions to Genacross Lutheran Services,  Napoleon, Ohio or the charity of your choice.

Online condolences may be made at: www.grisierfh.com. The Lauber family have lovingly prepared the obituary announcement for Pam.

For those wishing to view Pam’s Funeral Service remotely, a live stream link will be available soon. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to: Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold, Ohio.
